Soil Stabilization
Treating the ground so it carries the load the design assumed it would.
Overview
What this covers
The clay through this part of the state swells when it is wet and shrinks when it dries. Build a road on untreated subgrade and the pavement will tell you about it within a few seasons.
Stabilization mixes cement or lime into the subgrade to a set depth, then compacts it to a tested density. What was marginal ground becomes a working platform, and the pavement above it lasts the way it was designed to.
What is included
- Cement and lime treatment
- Depth controlled mixing with a reclaimer
- Moisture conditioning to optimum
- Compaction to specified density
- Proof rolling and testing coordination

- Full depth reclamation of failed pavement
Typical applications
- Subgrade under new roadway and streets
